USANA is a MLM (multilevel marketing) company, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, founded in 1992.
Most importan people there are: Myron Wentz, Founder & Chairman, David Wentz, CEO, Fred Cooper, COO, Jeff Yates, Tim Wood.
USAN selss following products through their MLM sales people:
  1. USANA Nutritionals
    nutritional supplements, Essentials Optimizers

Almost monthly pack of Essentials (28-day), multivitamins and mineral supplements, costs $39.95, that is $1.43 daily. Standard retail vitamins, cost about 14 cents a day. Usana says thei product costs more because it is high-quality, certified nutritional supplement, in a class by themself.

Company employs approximately 1,000 people, and has 176,000 associates and so called "preferred customers" (according to wikipedia).

Usana uses so called binary plan - every person have at most two people directly under him in compensation structure. Those two people have at most two people too.

To get paid Usana associate must pay initial fee ($20-$50) - he gets "business starter kit" for that, then buy about $150 in products and order products for circa $120 monthly - according to Forbes.

In 2004, 2005, 2006 Forbes put USANA on "200 Best Small Companies" list.
In 2007 USANA was removed from that list, and in Forbes one could read an article named "Hard to Swallow" that questioned USANAs products and business.
Also in 2007 it was anther controversy, because Usana's executives made false statements about their education and certification.
Also in 2007 Barry Minkow, felon and now fraud buster, sent SEC 500 page long report, accusing USANA of being pyramid scheme. It caused informal SEC investigation, that ended without significant results.
